| West Pasco Government Building, 1961. Located at 5418 Sunset Road, this being the construction of the first Pasco County Government building in Western Pasco. Prior to this building being erected, all County Government transactions necessitated travel to Dade City by West Pasco residents. As during this era, W. Pasco County experienced a large population boom, it was decided that a building closer to the Gulf to accommodate the public's need should be considered, and this 5-acre site, bounded by Veterans Drive on the West, and Sunset Road to the North was chosen. FAITH EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH can be seen to the NE of the County Building, having been erected in 1955. The Cotee River bend can be seen to the East and a very narrow US 19 can be seen to the right of this photograph. Photo by Angelo Deciucies; caption by David A. Henry. |
