Howard B. Jeffries Information

In 1995, residents of Zephyrhills, Florida, applied to have the home of Howard B. Jeffries added to the National Register of Historic Places. Unfortunately, the 1995 application misstated his name as Harold B. Jeffries. The mistake was at some point corrected and the database of the National Register of Historic Places does now correctly list the residence as the Capt. Howard B. Jeffries House. However, the effect of the 1995 mistake persists widely on the Internet. A Google search finds far more hits for “Harold B. Jeffries” than it does for his actual name.

Here is some evidence that his correct first name is, in fact, Howard.

This screen grab from the database of the National Register of Historic Places shows that the mistake has been corrected by that organization here.
