| 38537 Fifth Ave., Zephyrhills. The Historic Places of Pasco County has: “Owners: Steven and Eileen Herman. This two-story four-bedroom frame dwelling with red heart pine floors was built in 1911 by Captain H. B. Jeffries, an influential figure in the founding days who was instrumental in bringing many Civil War veterans to the area. After his death, his daughter, Mrs. Raymond Moore, sold the home to the F. Earl Hart family about 1950. During that prominent civic leader's tenure, some interior modernization took place, but the exterior characteristics remained practically unchanged except for the wraparound porch which was closed in on one side. Native Florida orchids continue to grow and bloom in the camphor trees flanking the front walk.” The enclosure of part of the porch has since been removed. In 2008 the home was owned by attorney Kara Hardin and her law practice was located here. 2008 photo. |
