The Gray Moss Inn, 203 W. Church Street, Dade City. Built of frame and stucco in a version of the Mediterranean Revival style, the building dates from the early years of the century and was once known as the Brummer home. Local historian Kate Futch recalled, "Back in 1913 when we lived on Church Street across the street in front of (or north) was the home of Mrs. Brummer and her family. As I remember, it was a very pretty two-story wooden house, with a porch on three sides. Mrs. Brummer had boarders and served meals." The Dudley family bought the house and remodeled it in 1925-1926, choosing the name Gray Moss Inn. It is noteworthy for reportedly hosting the only U. S. presidential visit to Pasco County: Calvin Coolidge (in office 1923-1929) once had lunch here. [Caption from The Historic Places of Pasco County. Note: in 2004 President George W. Bush visited New Port Richey.]
